Please join us in welcoming our newest staff member, Carla Stansifer!آ  Carla not only graduated from ALC in 2000 with a M.A. in classical Japanese, but she also taught Asian art history at CU as an adjunct instructor.آ  Her area of specialty is East Asian visual arts.آ  After graduating from CU, she was the Curatorial Associate at the Denver Art Museum in the Asian Art department, where she got to meet artists, educators, collectors and connoisseurs from all over the world.

In 2008, Carla was awarded a U.S. Fulbright Fellowship (via OIE) to study in Seoul, South Korea.آ  She studied Korean language for two years at both CU and Sogang University in Seoul.آ  During her fellowship she wrote, produced and directed a documentary on Korean lacquer arts, in addition to serving as intern at the Korea National Museum.آ 

Once she returned to the U.S., she taught Japanese language and culture at the University of Northern Colorado, tutored English as a second language, and helped to produce a new documentary on two 18th century Chinese lacquer screens.آ  Carla says, “I’m delighted to be a part of the CAS team, and eager to help promote Asian interests in Colorado.â€‌آ  She currently lives in ذكذكتسئµ with her family.
