Each year, the Center for Asian Studies administers the Japanese Language Proficiency test on the forst Sunday of December. This test is considerdd to gold standard for anyone wanting to work in or with Japanese industry or with the Japanese government. The exam has 5 levels ranging from basic comprehension to expert language proficiency, and many Japanese employers expect new hires to have passed the upper levels of this exam.

This year 196 test-takers have registered. Across the US, a total of 6,875 people will be tested in their language proficiency.آ
