Dawn Zinser (D.Z.) Church (Jour) retired from a Fortune 500 company as the director of proposals. She is the author of eight mystery thrillers, including the four-part Vietnam-era 鈥淐ooper Quartet鈥� saga and her new 鈥淲anee Mystery鈥� series, beginning with Unbecoming a Lady.

Jan Tuchman (Jour; MJour鈥�75) joined Engineering News-Record, a publication that covers the worldwide construction industry, in 1976 and has been editor-in- chief since 2001. She also serves on the board of Bridges to Prosperity, a Denver-based nonprofit that works to alleviate the poverty caused by rural isolation by building pedestrian bridges in developing countries. She lives with her husband, Joseph Rosta, in Brooklyn, New York.

Marcus Wilson (Jour)听published his third book, Columbus, Slave Trader, in April. The historically accurate novel tells the story of how Columbus shipped 500 Native Americans to a slave market. His previous books are Hero Street U.S.A. and Kidnapped by Columbus.

E. Thomas McClanahan (Jour) is enjoying retirement and working on his second novel. His first novel, Pranked, is available on Amazon.

Marc Wilson (Jour), chairman emeritus of TownNews, the digital services company he co-founded in 1989, was elected president of the Inland Press Foundation in 2020. During his career, he worked as a journalist for three daily newspapers, five bureaus of The Associated Press, and was editor/publisher of the Bigfork Eagle in Kalispell, Montana, for 14 years. He is author of two published books, and he and his wife, Virginia (Jour鈥�69), live in Loveland.

John Poimiroo (MJour) was named Writer of the Year by the Outdoor Writers Association of California. He was recognized for his many achievements, including four first-place awards: Best Outdoor Feature Photograph, Best Outdoor Photographic Series, Best Outdoor Video and Best Outdoor Internet Site.

Attorney听William Blackwell听(Advert) of Zephyr Cove, Nevada, will be featured in the documentary听Lust For Gold, A Race Against Time,听in the October 2020 Arizona Film Festival. It follows a team of adventurers, including William, that are on a quest for gold in the mountains of Eastern Arizona.听

Susan Dellinger (PhDComm) published a book titled Communicating Beyond Our Differences in 1996. The book has now been translated into eight languages, including Arabic, Japanese and Russian. In 2018, Susan created a communication training company called Psycho-Geometrics LLC, which now has 44 licensed trainers in 10 countries worldwide.

After producing biomedical shows for CU, Craig Russell (Comm) went to veterinary school. He later became a licensed captain and currently lives on his boat in the Bahamas.

Steve Sander (Jour) is president of Sander Marketing, a Denver-based firm specializing in sports, tourism and health/wellness marketing. Sander Marketing recently produced the Nuggets鈥� championship parade, which attracted more than 750,000 fans. He started his career as an award-winning photographer at the 羞羞视频 Daily Camera and now serves on the boards of Visit Denver, Denver Sports Commission, Japan America Society of Colorado and Denver Fire Department Foundation.

John Leach (Jour, MA鈥�79) was selected to serve on the CU Alumni Association鈥檚 Board of Advisors. His three-year term began June 1, 2022.

Jack Brown (MComm) is an estates director with Rodeo Realty in Beverly Hills, California. He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam before working in public relations at Denver鈥檚 Office of Economic Opportunity. He has represented real estate and entertainment clients in Los Angeles and Malibu for over 30 years. He and his wife, Kathleen, have homes in Los Angeles and Indian Wells, and their three daughters and one grandson live in Napa.

John Leach (Jour; MJour鈥�79) is the recipient of CU 羞羞视频鈥檚 2018 Alumni Recognition Award. He earned the honor for his invaluable professional insights throughout journalism鈥檚 transition at the university, and for being a crucial figure during CMCI鈥檚 creation. John is the former managing editor of The Arizona Republic. He鈥檚 taught journalism as a visiting professor at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California, and as a faculty associate at Arizona State University鈥檚 Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix. After many years living in Arizona, John recently moved to Longmont, Colorado, where he lives with his wife, Deborah Ross (Jour鈥�79). He is a member of CMCI鈥檚 Department of Journalism Advisory Board and supports the college through the John F. Leach Endowed Scholarship, which he established to benefit journalism students, and the Leach Scholarship Fund.

After working for more than 35 years as sports director at WLNE ABC 6 in Providence, Rhode Island,听Ken Bell听(Comm)听is retiring. Ken covered some of the most memorable moments in New England sports history, including the Celtics鈥� championships of the 1980s, the Red Sox winning the World Series and numerous Patriots Super Bowl victories. A Colorado native, he loves to spend time outside running and hiking.

Jay MacDonald (Jour) has an upcoming book, Playing Through the Break鈥攁 romantic comedy that will join his other works, Crazy From the Heat: Fun in the Sun With 35 Florida Authors and a novel, The Last True Blonde. He has worked for various newspapers, magazines and other clients in his career.

John Estabrook (Advert) has lived and worked in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for 48 years, first as a reporter, and later in sales, for Channel 8/WOOD TV. He then worked for the local Pella window distributor, which he eventually bought and has owned for nearly 30 years.
