In 2022, the climate-action organization Mission Zero partnered with CMCI for the first time, donating $25,000 to further climate-focused work in the college. Faculty and students undertook seven grant projects, tackling climate issues through innovative storytelling.

The Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design and its students earned top recognitions this year through the statewide One Club Denver student competition and the PRNews Education A-List.

The Colorado chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) honored Professor Dawn Doty of the College of Media, Communication and Information and CMCI alumna Nora Thomas. Doty was recognized with the 2022 Swede Johnson Lifetime Achievement and Thomas is the 2022 Joe Fuentes Rookie of the Year.

Years of preparation in classes, internships and student clubs helped CMCI alumna Sophia Bragaglia leap into one of the top advertising agencies in the world after graduation. Now, she’s applying the skills learned from majoring in strategic communication and economics in her new job as a data strategist.

CMCI students took Europe by storm this summer during the 2022 Global Seminar: International Strategic Communication Program. The monthlong tour through European cities exposed students to new ideas and best practices in the field of strategic communication.

With years of travel experience under her belt, Kendall Winer is ready to pursue a career in international luxury travel after graduation. She’ll launch into those plans with the distinction of being CMCI’s William W. White Outstanding Graduate.

Meet Strategic Communication student Taylor Cislo, director of Program Council.

Wood (StratComm’21) is competing as an alpine skier for the second time in the Paralympic Winter Games, which take place March 4-13.

After leaving her hometown of Glenwood Springs to pursue her education in ÐßÐßÊÓƵ, senior Cera Kocher quickly realized that, while it takes courage to try something new, there’s power in the ability to feel comfortable as a beginner. After college, she’ll continue to fuel her entrepreneurial spirit by joining ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Media House, a production company launched by fellow CMCI and CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ alumni. With majors in Media Production and Strategic Communication, as well as a minor in Creative Technology and Design, Kocher is the Department of Critical Media Practices’ William W. White Outstanding Senior.
