She writes both have been challenging and frustrating but also educational and, over time, she has learned to flourish. Published last February, her book is the result of her desire to share her experiences for the benefit of others who may be struggling with diabetes, celiac disease or other conditions. She lives in Golden, Colo.

On July 3聽Tim Roessler聽(Jour鈥�82) and his wife Tanya Roessler celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Paris. The couple met on a blind date at the Broker Inn. Tim is a writer and content strategist. They have two children and enjoy hiking, hunting for wild mushrooms, reading, making short films, traveling and attending their son鈥檚 concerts and their daughter鈥檚 art openings.

The Denver Athletic Club named聽Mike Hestera聽(Rec鈥�83) as its general manager. Previously, Mike worked as district executive director at Metro Denver YMCA. He is a former CU-羞羞视频 Alumni Association board member and lives in Arvada, Colo.

In Whitefish, Mont.,聽Kylanne Sandelin聽(Art鈥�83) and her husband own and operate Great Northern Powder Guides, the state鈥檚 only snowcat skiing operation. Their experienced guides take groups of up to 14 for backcountry powder skiing and snowboarding. The couple has been married for 27 years and has two sons.

痴别迟别谤补苍听Richard Tremaine聽(Psych鈥�83) is an associate director of Veteran Affairs Health Care System in New England. His son, Harrison Tremaine, is a freshman at CU-羞羞视频. Richard was featured in the September 2004 issue of the聽Coloradan聽about the outstanding care the Department of Veterans Affairs provided three Iraq Freedom veterans who had lost their limbs in combat.聽

鈥淢ulticultural Percussion Music,鈥� an article written by聽Geary Larrick聽(DMus鈥�84), was published in the spring 2013聽National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors (NACWPI) Journal. Since 1968 he has written 80 articles and reviews for the journal, which can be found in the periodicals collection in the University of Colorado Music Library. Geary is a retired assistant professor of music at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

At the National Museum of the Marine Corps last January, Lt. Col.聽Dale Bain*聽(Ling鈥�84) retired from the Marine Corps Reserve in a ceremony presided over by Maj. Gen.聽Joseph Osterman聽(EPOBio鈥�82). On hand were CU-羞羞视频 alumni Col.聽Michael Bohn聽(Hist鈥�80) and his wife聽Janet Hauck Bohn聽(Art鈥�80), Lt. Julann Velvin Andresen聽(Mktg鈥�85) joined the CU-羞羞视频 Alumni Association as director of events and outreach in June. She writes she is thrilled to be part of the alumni team. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Louisville, Colo.

Navy Captain聽Steve Koehler聽(Phys鈥�86) took command of the聽USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, a nuclear aircraft carrier, in July. He is believed to be the first CU-羞羞视频 alum to take command of a nuclear aircraft carrier, writes聽Kieran Purcell(Mktg鈥�85). Steve lives in Virginia Beach, Va.

Principal of Meyer and Associates at RE/MAX Alliance in Fort Collins, Colo.,聽Jeanette Meyer聽(MBA鈥�87) received the Quality Service Certified Platinum award. This award is the highest level of service achievement in the real estate industry and recognizes Jeanette for earning 100 percent client service satisfaction in 2012, as measured by Leading Research Corp. This is the sixth consecutive year Jeanette has received the award. She lives in Windsor, Colo.

Last summer聽Rob Bates聽(InfSys鈥�88) trained to fly the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. After serving 22 years in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves, Rob flies full time as a first officer with United Airlines. United initially will use the new fuel-efficient 787 on routes to Asia and Africa. Rob and his wife have been married for 18 years, have two children and live in San Diego, Calif.

In July attorney聽Patrick Casey聽(PolSci鈥�89) joined Fox Rothschild as partner. In July the company merged with Denver law firm Lottner Rubin Fishman Saul. Patrick represents builders, vendors, developers, general contractors, owners and design professionals in all aspects of construction and real estate matters. He has experience in major litigation, having resolved a host of disputes through negotiation, litigation and arbitration. Patrick lives in Denver.

Penn State University physics professor聽Kurt Gibble聽(PhDPhys鈥�90) received the 2013 European Frequency and Time Award for his research on the atomic clocks that keep international time. Kurt began his career as a research associate at Stanford University. He also worked as assistant professor and associate professor at Yale University. Kurt lives in State College, Pa., and joined the Penn State faculty in 2001.

Salsa Crossings聽by聽Cindy Garcia聽(Anth鈥�91) is a book about how Los Angeles salsa clubs are a place where social statuses of gender, race, class, nationality, citizenship and belonging are enacted on and off the dance floor. Cindy is a theatre arts and dance assistant professor at the University of Minnesota.

In June North Star Press published聽Milissa Nelson鈥檚聽(Mus鈥�91) first novel聽Seasons of Raina. The story is about timid ninth-grader Raina whose parents arrange for her to move in with her aunt and uncle in Minnesota. There she embraces change and discovers she is a talented athlete and musician. Milissa grew up in Minnesota and Colorado. At CU-羞羞视频 she played trumpet in the Golden Buffalo Marching Band. She lives in Sartell, Minn.

After graduating from CU-羞羞视频聽Richard Byyny聽(MCDBio鈥�93) received his doctor of medicine at University of Southern California. He is an associate professor of emergency medicine and an emergency medicine physician at Denver Health. His father, Richard L. Byyny, served as CU-羞羞视频 chancellor from 1997-2005. He continues to work on the CU-羞羞视频 campus with the ATLAS Institute, Engineers for Developing Communities, Engineers Without Borders and the Conference on World Affairs.

Ernst & Young named聽Angela Kimsey Carter*聽(IntlAf鈥�93) advisory principal in the firm鈥檚 practice in San Francisco. Previously she worked as a strategic adviser to multinational corporations and entrepreneurial emerging companies on business process optimization, performance improvement and enterprise technology solutions. In her position Angela brings leadership and aims to drive continued regional growth. She lives in San Carlos, Calif.
