Senior Sean W. Owens has won the Elizabeth Wittenberg Prize andÌý has been awarded membership in the Dobro Slovo National Slavic Honor Society. The Wittenberg prize recognizes an outstanding graduating Russian major.
Elizabeth Wittenberg received her master’s degree in Slavic languages from the University of Colorado in 1964 and taught at the university for about 10 years.
The Dobro Slovo National Slavic Honor Society recognizes students that have completed two years of study in Slavic languages, literature, culture or related subjects with a minimum average grade of 85 percent or equivalent and a minimum overall academic average of 80 percent or equivalent.
