Dr. Zuo, gave a Distinguished Lecture at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In this presentation he introduced our recent research in developing and applying the next generation multi-scale modeling technology for the optimal design and operation of smart, sustainable, and resilient cities. He also discussed the opportunities and fundamental challenges in modeling the building and city systems in urban built environment using an equation-based object-oriented modeling language Modelica.

Dr. Wangda Zuo is an Associate Professor, Lewis-Worcester Faculty Fellow, Faculty Director for Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Cities at the ÐßÐßÊÓƵ. He holds a joint appointment at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and has multiple projects funded by NSF, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and many more over the years. His current research focuses on smart, sustainable, and resilient buildings, communities, and cities.
