Expo 2018 CeramicSpeed

CeramicSpeed capstone design team presents at the 2018 Design Expo to Chip, CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ's costumed mascot.Ìý

In 2018,ÌýCeramicSpeed stole the show at Eurobike,Ìýan internationalÌýbicycleÌýtrade fairÌýheld annually since 1991. They brought with them their Driven drivetrain that theyÌýclaimed to beÌý99% efficient.ÌýThis year, the team isÌýback withÌýa telescoping, rotating version of the drivetrain that they say works with full suspension mountain bikes. And thanks to CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Department of Mechanical Engineering students, they also brought along aÌýprototype version on a road bike that shifts.

Both efficiency and shifting mechanisms were born out of Department of Mechanical Engineering 2018 and 2019 CeramicSpeed undergraduate capstone designÌýteams. The students'Ìýhard workÌýpaid off, takingÌýthe Driven mountain bike drivetrain oneÌýstep closer toward reality.

Past mechanical engineering students like Alex Rosenberry, who was part of the CeramicSpeed senior design team in 2018, has now gone on to work as an R&D Specialist for CeramicSpeed.Ìý
