Emmett co-teaches Legislative Analysis, Writing, and Advocacy in the Masters of the Environment program.
Their interests include comparative China-U.S. environmental law and China-U.S. cooperation on environmental law and policy, including at the subnational level. They are an avid reader of fiction, especially feminist and queer liberatory sci fi.
Emmett was previously an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York and Hong Kong, a China Comprehensive program instructor for Where There Be Dragons, and a China Fulbright Fellow. They hold a B.A. and M.A. in East Asian Studies from Brown and Yale respectively, a J.D. from Columbia, and an LL.M. in Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law from CU 羞羞视频. They grew up in New York and live in Denver with their husband and son.
