Rob Witwer

Rob Witwer is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Onward Energy, an independent power company with 55 wind, solar and natural gas generating facilities in 22 states.  From 2005-2009 he served in the Colorado House of Representatives, representing approximately 65,000 constituents in western Jefferson County, CO. 

While in the House, Rob served on the Judiciary, Education, Capital Development, Legal Services, Local Government, and Ethics committees. During his tenure Rob worked closely with governors and legislators of both  parties to address Colorado's public policy needs, including modernization of the state's business laws, wildfire preparedness, alignment of K-12 assessments with global standards, and advancing renewable energy (Rob was a co-prime House sponsor of 2006 legislation doubling Colorado's renewable portfolio targets to 20%). During his legislative tenure, Rob passed 85% of sponsored bills with bipartisan support. 

In 2010, Rob co-authored a book entitled “The Blueprint: How the Democrats Won Colorado (and Why Republicans Everywhere Should Care)” which has earned praise from reviewers on both sides of the aisle.  Rob has been quoted on politics and campaign finance in Atlantic, Bloomberg, National Review, Economist, Mother Jones, National Public Radio, Politico, Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. 

Rob has a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Amherst College. He, his wife Heather and 4 boys live in Golden, Colorado.
