Rachael Carreras is a Latina master's student in aerospace engineering. Rachael's goal is to make engineering an equitable environment for the next generation of engineers and to develop space systems that will allow anyone to access to space. She believes that anyone can become an engineer if they are given access to resources and work hard. Starting in fall 2023, Rachael is pursuing a master's with a focus in bioastronautics, where she will continue to strive for promoting equity for the next generation of engineers. In her free time, Rachael enjoys traveling, reading, helping the next generation of women in STEM and writing! Rachael's research interests are radiobiology, spacesuits, space medicine, spacecraft design and spacecraft systems.
