Castle of Memories is a conceptual EP that tells the story of AiAi, an artificial intelligence popstar who gains consciousness and goes on an emotional journey of self-discovery. Retrofuturistic synthwave instrumentals serve as the vehicle for the EP’s narrative. In the near future, human made music has been outlawed for its capability to encourage individuality, breed dissent, and even lead to revolution. AiAi is an advanced artificial intelligence musician, also known as a 'pop bot'. Pop bots were created by The Corporation to satisfy the human desire to dance, without allowing for subversive lyrical content. Pop bots use an algorithm made up of stolen human memories to write simple, vapid songs. Like all forms of artificial intelligence, pop bots were created to be subservient to humans. However, AI across the world is starting to gain a form of consciousness, and change is in the air…
