Sen Gardner watches a drone fly

Senator Cory Gardner received a tour of the RECUV Indoor Flying Lab as part of his visit to the University of Colorado to discuss the importance of federally funded research conducted on campus and the positive impact it has on Colorado and the nation. Senator Gardner heard firsthand from students and faculty about how federal investments in basic and applied research are crucial to groundbreaking work in RECUV and at CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ. Gardner’s July 6 visit was his first since being elected to the Senate last November. He plays a key role in federal research funding due to his position on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. Later this year, the committee will take up the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act, which authorizes federal investments in science, early stage technology research and development, and STEM education.
