Award-winning actress, writer and stand-up comedian Maysoon Zayid will speak at CU Ƶ onTuesday, Nov.1, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event, hostedbythe Cultural Events Board, is free and open to the public.

Zayid is the co-founder/co-executive producer of the New York Arab American Comedy Festival, and has appeared on Comedy Central, CNN, PBS, HBO, ABC, BBCand MTV. Shehas performed stand-up comedy in top New York clubs and toured in the US and abroad, such as Palestine and Jordan, andwas a 2013 honoree of the United Cerebral Palsy of NYC’s “Woman Who Care” Awards, and currently sits on its planning committee. Shewill speak about her experiences as a Palestinian Muslim-American with cerebral palsy, and how these multiple identities have shaped her life.

The Cultural Events Board’s mission is to provide programming that brings culture, diversity, and social awareness to the CU Ƶ campus.
