Looking for a little Friday fun? The College of Engineering and Applied Science is celebrating the annual Engineering Days 鈥 free and open to enthusiasts鈥攚ith some creative and educational activities. Some highlights:听

  • 11 a.m. The 20th annual 鈥渆gg drop鈥 contest will commence. Student teams that have customized containers designed to keep raw eggs from breaking will drop their creations from the eighth story of the Engineering Center Office Tower onto the courtyard on the west side of the engineering center. The award categories include: best use of an engineering principle; crowd pleaser; biggest splash; entry most destroyed without damaging the egg; and judges鈥 choice.
  • 11 a.m.听A听paper airplane contest designed to recognize the best aerodynamic designs will be held in the engineering center lobby. Teams of three to five students will have three missions: paper airplanes staying the longest time in the air; flying the longest distance: and precision landing in a designated bull鈥檚-eye.
  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.听A听model rocket contest using solid fuel rockets will take place on the Business Field just south of the engineering center.

Engineering Days at is part of national , which is held each February to demonstrate how engineers make a difference in the world, increase the public dialogue about the need for engineers and to bring engineering to life for students, educators and parents. Engineering Days is hosted by CU 羞羞视频鈥檚 Engineering Council and is sponsored by various societies and corporations.
