Two on-campus street closures—one short-term and one long-term—begin this weekend to accommodate a pair of construction projects.

Crews begin work Saturday, Nov. 3, on a water line replacement beneath a portion of Wardenburg Drive. That project will last about a month. Immediately following its completion, site staging will begin for the Warner Imig Music Building addition. The Imig project is slated for completion in summer 2020.

The corresponding street closures include:

  • The portion of Wardenburg Drive between the Imig Music Building and Wardenburg Health Center will close to traffic in both directions on Saturday, Nov. 3, and remain closed through summer 2020 to accommodate both the waterline project and the Imig addition (view map image).
    • Parking Lot 310 has been reconfigured to create a new access for permit holders from 18th Street through Lot 324.
    • Sidewalks on both sides of Wardenburg Drive will remain open to pedestrians during the waterline project. The north sidewalk will close once the Imig project begins in December. The south sidewalk will remain open throughout both projects.
  • The portion of 18th Street at the intersection with Wardenburg Drive will close to traffic in both directions beginning Saturday, Nov. 3, and re-open by 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 (view map image).
    • When the street re-opens, temporary surfacing will be in place until new pavement is installed in late November.

The Imig addition construction site and staging will include a small portion of Farrand Field beginning in early to mid-December. It will also include the closure of the sidewalk along the east side of the Imig building (view map image).
