Tuesday, Nov. 6

Drop by theBTU Labfor an open house night of hacking, beginning at 6 p.m.Eat cupcakes, bring a project (or just come see the cool things other people are working on)and hack the planet.

Today’s job search demands not only stellar applications and active networksbut often a professional presence online as well. In this workshop, learn ways to represent your personal brand by leveraging online tools that make sense for your individual goals. Create a strategy for presenting your skills to the world and making yourself “findable” for those who need your expertise. Workshop begins at 11 a.m. in UMC 245.

Program Council Film Series presents a special advancescreening of Green Book. Tickets are free, but they must be picked up in advance in the Program Council office, UMC 401. The movie will be shown in Chem 140 at 8 p.m.

Ed Talks

Inspired by TED Talks, the School of Education's Ed Talks exploreshot topicsin education through short and engaging presentations. Speakers will explorethe collective power of students of color, new narratives for young people as political agents and more. Free and open to the public. The talks begin at 7 p.m. at the , Gordon Gamm Theater. RSVP is recommended, as space is limited.

Kevin Hines is a best-selling author, documentary filmmaker and suicide prevention and mental health advocate who has reached millions with his inspiring personal story of unlikely survival. At age 19, two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Since then, Hine'sstrong will to live and stay mentally well has inspired people worldwide. This free screening of his documentary will be in VAC 1B20. Hinesalso will be Monday, Nov. 12.


Friday, Nov. 9

Join the UMC and Veteran and Military Affairs for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, featuring keynote speaker Vice Admiral Herman A. Shelanski, United States Navy (ret). The ceremony beginsat 11 a.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom.
