CU ذكذكتسئµ students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed annexation of the CU ذكذكتسئµ South property through the city of ذكذكتسئµâ€™s Be Heard ذكذكتسئµ platform.

The city is encouraging the public to and seeking public comment through , which will remain open through Feb. 15.ج‎

The university purchased the 308-acre CU ذكذكتسئµ South property—located south and west of the junction of Table Mesa Drive and U.S. 36—in 1996 for future needs of the university. CU ذكذكتسئµ, through its annexation application, is seeking the ability to develop 129 acres of the site, as well as an additional 30 acres for recreational fields.

If annexed, 80 acres of the site would be donated to the city to create improved flood mitigation and for city owned open space. While the university is not ready to develop the property, CU ذكذكتسئµâ€™s plans for the site would include building housing for university faculty, staff, graduate students and upper division undergraduates, along with some academic uses and recreational amenities.

The city and CU worked with ذكذكتسئµ County to approve changes to the 2015 ذكذكتسئµ Valley Comprehensive Plan update, which included new land use designations and guiding principles for the site. Those guiding principles are being used to guide future decisions around the annexation and development of CU ذكذكتسئµ South.

In anticipation of the community engagement, the city, with input from CU ذكذكتسئµ, created a that outlines the history of the CU ذكذكتسئµ South site and the issues of most importance in the annexation negotiations, including areas where the city and university agree, as well as areas where further consideration is needed.ج‎
