Equestrian team prepares for new season of competition

Imagine competing in a club sport where you meet your only teammate for the first time right before the competition begins. You鈥檙e not allowed to practice together beforehand and the equipment you use is new to you. This may sound like an unreasonable challenge, but it鈥檚 designed to create a fair competition. Just ask juniors Kelly Meyer and Lauren DeGeorge, members of CU-羞羞视频鈥檚 equestrian team , who compete in intercollegiate English and Western riding competitions, where they are judged on skill and ability.

CU Law Professors Can Comment on Supreme Court鈥檚 Affirmative Action Case

On Oct. 10, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a case that reconsiders affirmative action in university admissions. In Fisher v. University of Texas, the plaintiff is a white woman who says she was denied admission while less-qualified minority applicants were admitted. When the court last considered the issue in 2003, it re-affirmed that public colleges and universities could consider race as one of many factors in making admissions decisions.

Graphene membranes may lead to enhanced natural gas production, less CO2 pollution

Engineering faculty and students at the 羞羞视频 have produced the first experimental results showing that atomically thin graphene membranes with tiny pores can effectively and efficiently separate gas molecules through size-selective sieving. The findings are a significant step toward the realization of more energy-efficient membranes for natural gas production and for reducing carbon dioxide emissions from power plant exhaust pipes.
