The Kane lab uses bioinformatics and genomics to investigate genetic, evolutionary, ecological, and applied questions in sunflowers, lichens,جandجCannabis. Ongoing projects inجCannabisجare aimed at developing resourcesجto modernize our knowledge, tools, and breeding of this under-studied genus, and to answer a range of basic science questions, including the genetics of secondary compound metabolism and the genetics of sex determination.جI hope that through REACH we can combine the expertise across a wide range of disciplines,جenabling us to directly and indirectly connect genetic and chemical variation in the plants to the beneficial and harmful effects on humans, and to thereby improve our understanding of the workings of the human endocannabinoid system.
