Free electives are courses you can choose “freely” towards your 128 credit hours.  It’s important to note there is wide variation across majors – as low as 3 credits or as high as 25 credits.  Free electives provide flexibility for you to pursue an area of interest which could be related to your major, a minor or certificate you are pursuing, an eclectic group of courses you want to explore, or simply coursework “for fun” (like marching band or hip hop dance class).
