Professor Amir Behzadan, of CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, hosted a workshop where participants were introduced to human-centered AI applications in disaster management and encouraged to work toward ways to adopt AI-informed solutions.

Civil engineering major Gabrielle Dunn’s dedication to academic, personal and professional development, as well as to support her peers, has earned her the 2024 Outstanding Undergraduate of the College award.

Throughout college and in the eight years since graduation, Ben Mousseau (ChemBio’16) has felt grateful for the mentors who guided him. Now a global supply manager at Tesla, Mousseau gives back to CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ's Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering by mentoring students through the department’s Alumni Student Mentor Program.

Magnus Boee, a graduate student in civil engineering, excelled in Nordic skiing for the Colorado Buffalos. As a Division 1 athlete, he completed both a BS and MS (expected spring 2024) in civil engineering while training and competing. Boee represented South Korea in Nordic skiing at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics and is now aiming for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Eight graduating seniors from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering were honored with 10 Graduating Student Awards from the College of Engineering and Applied Science this year.

Three graduating seniors from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering share their thoughts about their experiences at CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ.

Since retiring in 2017 from CU ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Professor Dave Clough has collaborated on three textbooks. He’s also regularly involved with students, participating in PhD committees and undergraduate activities alike.

Professor Daniel K. Schwartz was honored with the prestigious American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry 2024 Langmuir Lectureship award for significant contributions to the field of colloid and interface science.

Jerome Fox, an associate professor at the ÐßÐßÊÓƵ, has been named a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). His research focuses on engineering microbes for drug discovery. He founded Think Bioscience, a company developing medicines for conditions like Rett Syndrome and cancer.

Kaustav Bera, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, has been honored with a prestigious three-year postdoctoral fellowship from the Helen Hay Whitney Foundation, which supports career development of young scientists engaged in basic biomedical research.
