The mission of OIEC is to create and foster a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment and to be a national leader in preventing and responding to sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, stalking, and protected-class discrimination and harassment—whether against a student, employee, or third party. OIEC continuously refines its policies, procedures, and practices to maintain legal compliance while utilizing evidence-based and innovative assessment, prevention, and response models. The ADA Compliance unit in OIEC ensures campus access,Ìýprovides employment accommodations, and works collaboratively with Disability Services.

OIEC implements and enforces four university policies: Protected Class Nondiscrimination; Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Violence, and Stalking; Conflict of Interest in Cases of Amorous Relationships; and Lactation Space. All policies can be found on this page of our website.
