The Office of Organizational and Employee Development invites CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ employees to attend upcoming seminars and courses. January and February's featured seminars include: Emotional Intelligence, StrengthsQuest, Managing the CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Way and Real Colors. Programs are offered free of charge to CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ employees.

Carlos Garcia, executive director of the University Memorial Center, has been named Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He will begin his new position on March 1.

As part of CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s commitment to fostering an accessible campus environment, OIT recently licensed SensusAccess, an online service that allows anyone with an @colorado.edu email address to upload a document and have it automatically converted to an accessible document type.

There are a few days left to designate monthly payroll deductions to benefit Colorado nonprofits. Have you explored how you can give a little, and make a big difference over the course of the coming year? It's time to visit colorado.gov/ccc and make your selections. As state employees, you show your commitment to fellow Coloradans each and every day. When you join with other Colorado state employees and make a donation to a nonprofit organization through the Colorado Combined Campaign, your impact is increased.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently initiated an investigation into the fire risks associated with hoverboards. In light of numerous fires associated with hoverboards and the actions being taken by major retailers and airlines, hoverboards are not permitted in CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ residence halls or Graduate and Family Housing. The new policy took effect on Jan. 1.

A brand new parking garage will open off Stadium Drive on Jan. 7, 2016. The three-level, covered facility, called Folsom Garage, will accommodate 555 vehicles. It is located underneath the new Indoor Practice Facility, part of the Athletics expansion.

On Dec. 19, 2015, the ÐßÐßÊÓƵ honored candidates for 1,736 degrees, including 1,280 bachelor’s degrees, 280 master’s degrees, 8 law degrees and 168 doctoral degrees. CU-ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Professor and 2015 Hazel Barnes Award recipient Fred Anderson gave the commencement address. See photos and more from this special occasion.
